Brocade has been blazing an Ethernet fabric trail since 2010 when we introduced the industry's first Ethernet fabric switch. Since then, we have won the hearts and minds of more than 700 customers who are enjoying the rewards of their fabric deployments - including incredible network simplicity and automation, and improved reliability and efficiency.

Our latest innovation in the company's Ethernet fabric portfolio is the Brocade VDX 8770 modular switch. Available in 4-slot and 8-slot versions, the VDX 8770 sets a new standard for Ethernet fabric architectures.

How is this product different from the rest of the pack?

  • Delivers scale up to 8000 ports in a single Ethernet fabric - more than any competing fabric technology;
  • Supports more than 380,000 virtual machines attached to the fabric - 2x the leading fabric competitor
  • Includes an industry-leading 4Tb per-slot backplane, with 1Gb, 10Gb and 40Gb line rate, non-blocking Ethernet ports
  • Drives any-port-to-any-port latency down to 3.58usec, half the nearest competitor;
  • Makes maximum possible use of all network bandwidth with multipathing at L1, L2 and L3 - a first in the industry!

But that's not all. When our engineering team designed the VDX 8770, we future-proofed the platform to ensure it can support new data center technologies as they emerge over the next 2 to 10 years, such as network virtualization with protocols such as VXLAN, as well as dense 100Gb Ethernet.

This new platform is ideal for next generation data center networks. Our customers even say so:

"We are a 4500-seat enterprise with two data centers and over 80 sites, mostly national but some international. Our data center network used to be a big bottleneck for performance and I foresee that the Brocade VDX 8770 will allow us to grow and keep ahead of the network demand curve." - Michael Harrison, senior network engineer, Physicians Sales and Service.

As a company, we are laser-focused on delivering technology and solutions that provide unrivaled automation, reliability and scalability to help provide our customers with a smooth transition to the cloud. I'm incredibly proud of what we're doing here at Brocade and I invite you to contact us to learn more about the new Brocade VDX 8770 switch.
