On August 16, 2016, Brocade launched a program that both formalizes and increases the collaboration with its strategic alliances. Brocade’s Strategic Collaboration Program is a mutually beneficial program with named alliances that includes collaborative marketing, sales and other market driven activities designed to meet the needs of joint customers. This collaboration with alliances aligns with Brocade’s New IP strategy, which fosters open, innovative and ecosystem driven platform development.
While Brocade has always been collaborative with their alliances, this new umbrella, cross segment program is a first for the company. It reinforces the strategy that Brocade’s ecosystem is open and customer driven, and participating alliances have chosen to partner with Brocade to collaborate at new levels. The rationale behind the program includes but is not limited to:
Built-in catalyst to create market-driven solutions and reference architectures, with an emphasis on Brocade’s New IP
Systematic, formal approach to marketing and selling collaborative solutions
Proof point for Brocade’s open ecosystem and customer-centric approach
Validates the collaboration Brocade has with key industry alliances
Accelerate cross-selling into Brocade/alliance partner & customer bases
Attraction of new alliances via marketing and general exposure of this program
Incremental revenue opportunity via solutions for Brocade & alliance channel partners
Participating alliances that are part of the program will enjoy benefits from Brocade that include but are not limited to:
Compatibility and integration testing (as agreed)
Discounted hardware for testing and demo centers
Development of solution architectures
Logo placement on the program web page on Brocade.com
Brocade support of alliance launches that align with program strategy
Brocade is leveraging the framework of the previously announced Solid State Ready (SSR) program, which focused solely on storage, and expanding it to include other critical areas. The newly added areas will include mobility, security, platform and software/orchestration.
This program increases both the breadth and depth of the collaboration Brocade will have with named alliances in two ways:
Expansion of the number of segments and the alliances within those respective segments
The scope of benefits and collaboration with named alliances
These alliances and this newly announced program expand Brocade’s best in class partner ecosystem, the Brocade Partner Network, which includes all types of Brocade partners and alliances, as shown below:
While this new program is expected to continually evolve and grow over time, below is a list of participating alliances as of Brocade’s August 16 launch:
This new program will not only benefit Brocade, but Brocade alliances, channel partners and customers. Alliances will benefit from an expanded set of partner via cross selling, partners will likely benefit from having more Brocade solutions to sell and customers are expected to benefit by having more solutions that meet their respective needs.
