Can anyone clarify what "P2P firewalling functionality" is that is listed as deprecated in 6.6R1? Is this something different than standard ipv4 firewalls applied to ethernet interfaces?

Yes, the P2P firewalling was a deep packet inspection plugin that detected some legacy peer-to-peer file sharing services like Kazaa, LimeWire, and unencrypted bittorrent. The deprecation refers only to P2P file-sharing detection with DPI.
