Today’s IT universe is changing at a rapid pace. IT leaders – and your customers - are racing to take advantage of the benefits of third platform technologies like cloud, mobile and big data. We’re not talking about a marathon, but a full on sprint. A recent Brocade survey of global CIOs revealed details on IT priorities and challenges, as well as the pace of third platform technology adoption.

Here's what we heard from 200 CIOs in key markets in Americas, Asia and Europe, and that I wanted to be sure you're aware of, as Brocade channel partners, because these are perspectives that many of your customers may share as well.

CIOs want to make the most of data analytics & improve productivity through big data. Today’s CIO has more resources at his or her fingertips than ever before thanks to insights available through big data. According to the Global CIO survey, 72 percent of CIOs want to focus on improving the use of data and analytics and 77 percent of CIOs are concerned about enabling analytics and data mining.

CIOs want to accelerate business agility through the cloud. Cloud adoption has increased 200 percent in just two years, creating opportunities to lower operating and maintenance costs, accelerate business agility and increase efficiency. In fact, 90 percent of respondents to the CIO Survey stated that they have a form of cloud deployed.

CIOs customers want to manage next-generation mobility. Mobile adoption across organizations continues to rise. The Global CIO survey found that 60 percent of CIOs will need to support agile architecture with next-generation mobile applications by 2017.

So what stands in the way of customers’ abilities to address these issues and cross the finish line? The network. One important finding of the survey was that 75 percent of CIOs believe their network hinders innovation. Legacy networks were not designed to support the data intensive demands created by big data, cloud and mobility. This provides a huge opportunity for you as a Brocade partner.

You have the ability to help your customers keep pace with innovation and redefine what their IT future looks like, through the New IP. The New IP is a user-centric, software-driven network paradigm built around open standards and multi-vendor inoperability to drive innovation. Software-enabled network solutions like software defined networking (SDN) and network functions virtualization (NFV) enable the automation and programmability necessary to manage the hard-to-predict demands of cloud, mobile and big data. By using open standards-based solutions, you can help your customers make upgrades according to their needs without being locked in by proprietary standards in the network.

CIOs are being challenged to digitize their business and keep up with a faster and more agile environment. Learn more about how you can help your customers in the transition to the New IP:
