Today, Network Functions Virtualization is already being used by many of the largest cloud service providers and telecoms providers look set to be the next to follow. From our conversations with telecoms operators, we know that in general, the industry has now realised the potential value of NFV. For the bigger telecoms players, it is now really just a question of when and how they choose to implement NFV. Brocade has already been working with Telefonica to demonstrate the potential of NFV and we are likely to see deployments happening within the telecoms space in the next 12 months.
Released in early 2014, the Brocade Vyatta 5600 was the first purpose-built NFV solution to address the demands of the world's largest service providers. Our work with Telefonica last year helped establish new benchmarks for the deployment and performance of NFV solutions.
The tests conclusively demonstrated the performance range that service providers can expect from virtualised, software-based networking infrastructure. Essentially, this has removed the performance barrier from the NFV adoption conversation. Our focus is now on expanding the capabilities of the Vyatta vRouter for the broadest possible leverage across the service provider network. In fact, we established a new R&D facility in the UK at the start of this year to work primarily on the development of our Vyatta technology.
We firmly believe that the future of the network lies in a New IP; one that includes intelligent, agile software. This new approach will be built upon dynamic technologies, with increased automation that leverages virtualisation, open architectures and ecosystems.
So, what does this all mean for you? Simply put, it's time to get certified. Now is perfect time to become the NFV expert within your organization by taking advantage of the free Brocade NFV Certification. You'll be conducting your NFV Certification training on a Brocade Vyatta vRouter, featuring high-performance virtual routing, stateful firewall, VPN functions, and Layer 4-7 application delivery services.
This valuable experience will help you stay fresh with your skills and your career, and prepare you for the New IP era, something you won’t want to miss out on.
