What is different between flow manager and flow optimizer

I want to know. What is different between flow manager (on SDN controller) and flow optimizer? Are there different features ?

Thanks,

Re: What is different between flow manager and flow optimizer

Hi,

I reccomend you to read the datasheets for both products. The explain all features of each application.

For short:

Flow Manager is a little app installed within the controller. Similar to topolgy manager it shows the discovered network devices and links. It lets you configure flows, paths and more for each device. It's a configuartion interface.

BFO is totally different. It is a standalone app. It collects sFlow data from your network devices an lets you visualize them based on the individual flows. You can create policies to steer traffic flows in your network with openflow rules. It requires an SDN controller to interact with your devices. It can do much more than this, have a look to the datasheet.

Cheers,

Swen

The Brocade Flow Manager (BFM) and the Brocade Flow Optimizer (BFO) can be installed in same host?
