Re: Having trouble getting SDN controller UI to work on Redhat or Ubuntu install of 60 day trial of SDN controller

Hi,

the UI connects to port 8181 REST API when trying to login. Make sure this port isn't blocked by a firewall on the server or in front of it. Second, if your server is behind a dedicated firewall using NAT you need to change the controller IP config for the the UX interface to reflect the NAT IP intead of the local one.

root@bvc:/opt/bvc$ cat ux/server/config-bvc.json
{
  "activeProfile": "default",
  "default": {
    "controller": {
      "host": "YOUR_NAT_IP_HERE",
      "restPort": "8181",
      "protocol": "http"
    },
    "inventoryNotificationRateLimitInSecs": 120
  },
  "ui": {
    "appTitle": "Brocade SDN Controller"
  }
}

It takes 3 to 4 minutes (depending on your machine) to get signed-in.

After controller starts, wait for few minutes and then you will be able to log in to topology manager GUI and apidoc/explorer and restconf/modules.
