What happens when you select capture performance data?

What happens  when you select capture performance data?

Does the utility grab existing data from the switches?

Or does it sit there and capture the data live?

I want to grab the last 8 hours of performace data.  So I'm hoping if I select 8 hours it will quickly go get the data.  And not collect for 8 hours.

Guess I could just try one but remoting into my VM and having mouse issues which hangs up the San health.  So I don't want to mess with the audit set.

(note this is not a SAN Health issue but a connectivity issue at my end).

Cheers

Re: What happens when you select capture performance data?

Hi ku_edm, On FOS switches, SH runs the portperfshow command for the duration you select. That is, selecting 8 hours will increase the audit by 8 hours. This does not apply to EOS or MDS switches which SH does not capture performance from. Please search the SH help file for "performance" for more information.   Regards, SHD

SAN Health always capture the data for those hrs , which we select, it gives the real time data. For historical data we can use DCFM.
