Does anyone know how to interpret the SAN Health Report in particular the zoning pages.

We use NPIV and also our storage is presented via IBM SAN Volume Controller Clusters. Both NPIV and the SVC Cluster nodes show up in different colours in the zoning reports. I dont quite understand what this means. Can anyone explain this to me?

Re: Does anyone know how to interpret the SAN Health Report in particular the zoning pages.

As per intruduction worksheet in the report

RED    Critical    A situation exists where if not corrected, loss of access to data may occur. Action is necessary.
ORANGE    Important    A situation exists where if not corrected, may result in a malfunctioning of the SAN.
BLUE    Review        Further investigation is necessary to assess the impact to the SAN
WHITE    Normal        Best practices are being adhered to, no further investigation is necessary.

GREEN    Normal        LSAN zones are highlighted green to draw attention to them, no further investigation is necessary.

So green and white are OK

Blue probably a hanging member, ie wwpn not active during the scan
