Mobility 7131 Wireless N

I am unable to get any of my devices to connect to the 7131 at n speeds.  They all connected as wireless g.  Any suggestions on things to check?

Thanks...

Can you share details of your environment?

Re: Mobility 7131 Wireless N

We currently have 3 7131 set up around our building.  One is acting as the virtual controller, the rest are linked to it.  Everything else is pretty straight forward.  We have a cable modem connected to a sonic wall which then goes into our switches.  I know very little about the 7131's and have them mostly on the default settings.  I can't seem to get computers connected at 5 GHz as well as anything higher than wireless g.

Re: Mobility 7131 Wireless N

Depending on how the 5 GHz and 2.4 GHz radios are configured, the LEDs will blink at different intervals between amber and yellow (5 GHz radio) and emerald and yellow (2.4 GHz radio). Assuming you have a dual-radio model, check if your 4th LED blinks in Amber. Blinking Amber indicates 802.11a activity. A 5 second Amber and Yellow blink rate defines 802.11an activity.

I see no amber lights.  How do I know if I have a duel radio model?

If you have a Tri-Radio model, all the six LEDs on top of the access point will illuminate. Five LEDs illuminate (on top of the housing) for dual radios models, and four illuminate for single radio models.

But even if I have only one radio working, How do I get that radio to work at Wireless N speeds instead of G?

Re: Mobility 7131 Wireless N

Did you log into the AP to find what mode is selected? You can find that under "System Configuration -> Quick Setup-> Radio Configuration"

Re: Mobility 7131 Wireless N

Well if you notice under the radio menu, I have the data rate listed as BGN.

Do these settings look good?
