how to indicate the username when upgrading firmware through FTP

Hi everyone,

I am trying to upgrade the firmware of ICX6610 through ftp. How can I indicate a username such as anonymous in the command? For the ftp server in my computer, I have to give an username and password in order to allow the client to connect. The guide gives such a command: "copy tftp flash 192.168.10.12 grz07302.bin bootrom". But how can I provide an username?

Thank you so much.

Re: how to indicate the username when upgrading firmware through FTP

Your 'copy' command is using TFTP, not FTP. TFTP doesn't use usernames or passwords. You'll need to run a TFTP server on your computer.

You could also use SCP for faster, more secure file transfers.
