Switched Locked out--can we reinstate through BNA

Hello All,

One of my edge brocade switch was locked out, and cannot use webtools or ssh or telnet.

Can I re-enable that using BNA.

Just want to avoid a big drive 100 miles away to our alternate data center.

Can you please help

Sorry it is still locked out.

You mean telnet by physically putting a cable or using BNA???

Can you explain the steps, if it is using BNA please.

Ok, I forgot to mention that, I tried, ssh, telnet, rlogin, everthing I could

When I try to do using putty the session after sometime simply goes away (no login prompt or any other port)

But, I can see the switch through BNA. Is there any way to do through BNA please.

is unknown to me.

can you ping the Switch Management IP Port ?

can you try to scan the MGMT Interface with netwok IP scanner to see if the Port answer  (22 or 23)

try again with Putty, and make sure you PC / Notebook is not behind by Firewall.

Alternative if Putty is not work, try with Tera Term

Additional,

keep in mind is a High RISK, and the switch lost in BNA for short time.

Ask you Network admin, to disable just the Switch Port ( Ethernet Switch ) where the switch in connect, and the set to enable again.

is probable the port hang.

Thanks again,

IP is pinging without any issues.

Network IP scanner 22 and 23 connections refused.

My collegue told me he tried to disable Port 23 rule 2 to refuse telnet.

Is there any other way?

Re: Switched Locked out--can we reinstate through BNA

sound not good.

however I believe you understand me wrong.

-->>My collegue told me he tried to disable Port 23 rule 2 to refuse telnet.

with Port Disable, I meaning to disable the Phisical Ethernet Switch port, where the Brocade management Port is connected.

I.e. assuming you have a Ethernet Switch with 48 ETH Port, and the Brocade Switch in question is connected to Port 15.

now set this port "15" on disable, wait a couple of minutes and set enable back.

another alternative:

login via Telnet to another SAN Switch in the same IP Subnet, and try to established a telnet connection to not working switch.

Re: Switched Locked out--can we reinstate through BNA

Thanks for your inputs.

We decided to drive 100 miles this weekend to correct this.

Telenet from the core switch or any edge switch also seems to be not connecting to the particular switch.

Network port disabling cannot be thought of.. because require a emergency change approval may take long time

Thanks again for all your inputs.
