Network Advisor v11.1 can't discover the switch with FOS v7.0.0c.

Hi,

We are runnnig Network Advisor v11.1 with a switch FOS v7.0.0c.

When I try to discorver fabric, the below message occured and can't discover.

Error Message

"Supplied seed switch is running an unsupported firmware version. Specify a switch runnning a newer firmware version as a seed switch."

I think Network Advisor v11.1 is supported to FOS v7.x because the Network Advisor manual (SAN User manual) say that Brocade 5000 switch supports "Fabric OS v5.2.1 or later" in [Supported hardware and software] section.

If you have any idea of this topic, please give any suggestions.

Thanks.

can you please specified the switch Type / Model and the exact BNA Release 11.1.x ?

FOS 7.0.0 is supported in BNA 11.1.0 but some switches required higher FOS 7.0.x release

Re: Network Advisor v11.1 can't discover the switch with FOS v7.0.0c.

@wono

you say the switch is Brocade 5000 with FOS 7.0.0c, and this is impossible, the 5000 is supported only till FOS 6.4.3

do follow, at the CLI login to the switch with username admin, and post the output from command

"switchshow"

anyway, BNA 11.0.0 don't support FOS 7

Thank you for your support.

I'm sorry to have trouble many times.

>is this switch in productive environments ?

What does "productive environments" means?

This switch is in company lab network and isolated environments. So this environment doesn't connect internet.

Re: Network Advisor v11.1 can't discover the switch with FOS v7.0.0c.

->(Some informatin is hidden for information security.)

the WWN is a simple stupid number.... not sure what you mean with security....

->What does "productive environments" means?

Productive is, when host and storage are connected to the switch.

I see here the switch have some connectivity to ???? and ISL to another Brocade 5000

At this point I'm not sure what really is you problem.

Re: Network Advisor v11.1 can't discover the switch with FOS v7.0.0c.

Hi @wono,

the output "Fabric is actively reconfiguring (unstable)" means that one or more switching is possible joining / leaving the fabric - possible during a fabric build (BF).  Or ISL goes offline / online or ...  Try to discover the seed switch - should be newest FOS - again.
