Network Advisor Configuration - invalid location

[ Edited ]

Hello All,

I am attempting to migrate from BNA 12.4.1 to 14.0.1 and am having issues on the data import. No matter where I put the backup data from the old server on the new server I get an invalid location error when I import it.

I am thinking there is a very specific path I need to follow to get this working but it's not detailed in my instructions.

Any assistance would be great.

Thank you

Also - this is on RH Linux 7.1

EDIT:

Error log output. Not very helpful but here it is.

Re: Network Advisor Configuration - invalid location

Hello,

the release notes from 14.0.1 contain the following upgrade path:

"You cannot migrate directly from DCFM 10.0.X, DCFM 10.1.X, or DCFM 10.3.X to Network Advisor 14.0.1. You must first migrate to DCFM 10.4.X, then migrate to Network Advisor 11.1.X, then migrate to Network Advisor 12.0.X, then migrate to Network Advisor 12.2.X, then migrate to Network Advisor 12.3.X, then migrate to Network Advisor 12.4.X, then migrate to Network Advisor 14.0.0, and then migrate to Network Advisor 14.0.1."

So it seems you first have to upgrade to 14.0.0 before going to 14.0.1.

I'm not even getting to that point though. I cannot get Networker Advisor Configuration to see my data - but also right on the NAC screen it says my migration from 12.4.0 to 14.0.1 a valid upgrade.

EDIT:

Meh, it's easy enough to just start from scratch. Thanks for the reply though.

Re: Network Advisor Configuration - invalid location

Hi Chuck,

I learned earlier that for the restore to work in SMC - which might also apply in your case, we needed to have the following folder structure

/opt/somefoldername/Backup

/opt/somefoldername/BackupAlt

and point to /opt/somefoldername/ dujring the restore. And you are trying to import an old backup during installation (configwizard), or it is an old installation directory?
