DCFM: Unable to start SNMP Listener at port 162

Hi,

I'm using DCFM Enterprise 10.4.5a (IBM version) to manage our SAN environment.

Since 24h I get the following error every 6 hours:

Event: Unable to start SNMP Listener at port 162

So I know WHAT is wrong, bot not WHY. So I can't resolve this problem.

Is there anyone who can help me here?

Thank you,

Janko

Re: DCFM: Unable to start SNMP Listener at port 162

This sounds that you have a tool running which is listen on the port 162.

Depending on your OS you can use netstat to find out which process is running on port 162. With netstat you can find out which process ID is using  this port and with this process ID you have to find the binary file over a process or task list.

It is the SNMP trap listener port.

It could be possible that you have a zombie process.

Did you try a reboot of the server?

Re: DCFM: Unable to start SNMP Listener at port 162

Thank You,

there really was a process listening at port 162. Now this process was configured not to listen at this port and after a reboot DCFM is working well again.
