Hello.

I have 4 switches connected with ISLs. like this:

SW#1     SW#2

    |       X       |

SW#11  SW#12

On islshow command, the output of the switch name is all same.

These switch has same firmware v7.2.1c.

Is it a bug?

Please check for me.

On switch #1, I could see below this :

Re: islshow displayed strange things.

Hi,

The issue here is that there is no room for the full name of the switchs to be displayed. It looks that the guy that programmed this command did not expect to use switchnames with that amount number of characters. And in your case the all the switchs have the same name but the last character.

if you rename your switchs to a shorter name, the command will display the full (and correct) name.

In any case, this is a cosmetic issue and there is no need to worry about it.
