Re: Zone Conflict between 200E & 4100

maybe, a zoneset modificaiton was performed when the ISLs wher down...

I suppose that you've already checked that zoning is exactly the same on both switchs, haven't you?

If you could attach a set of supportshows/supportsave of both switchs, we could take a look into it...

Re: Zone Conflict between 200E & 4100

Hi Guijarro

Yes i have already check there are slite difference zoneset's are found between 200E & 4100.   zones which is in 200E is not present in 4100....will that be issue?

But 200E is showing as principal switch which is not suppose to be right? beause as I said our pricipal switch is 3900.  is this may be the issue?

please reply

Re: Zone Conflict between 200E & 4100

Hi there,

zonesets have to be exactly the same in both switchs, so if you have found a difference, you have to:

     - remove the zones in 200E not present in the 4100, then the switchs will merge into a single fabric. Once the fabric is made up of the 3 switchs, you can re-add those zones.

     - another option would be to add those extra zones to 4100.

The fact is that if the zonesets are not identical, the fabric won't merge reporting teh zone conflict error. Once the zonesets are the same, the switchs will merge without problems.

You see 200E as principal because, it is the principal of a single-switch fabric. Once you correct the zoning issue, this switch will become a subordinate again.
