Will enabling virtual fabric on existing switch reset the config?

I am being asked to enable virtual fabrics on our DCX running 6.4.2, which has a rather large zoning configuration assigned to it. Obviously, before I do anything I will back it up, but I am curious. Will enabling virtual fabric capabilty on an already configured switch reset the existing fabric zoning config? If so, are there any gotchas involved with restoring the original config to the default logical switch?

Re: Will enabling virtual fabric on existing switch reset the config?

from what i understand, enabling VF is a really disruptive action as it requires a reboot of the entire chassis.
i didn't have a chance to confirm, but i believe that all the ports together with all the existing config (including zoning) will be transferred into the default FID 128. so i think that zoning will not be lost. although backup is always a good idea :)
