I can find detail description about statsclear command from Fabric OS Command Reference  Manual.,But can not find slotstatsclear command explanation.

Also i don't know what's different about statsclear and slotstatsclear command.

Re: What's different about statsclear and slotstatsclear command

There's a portstatsclear and statsclear iin the FOS7 command reference guide.

-portstatsclear will clear stats for a particular port

-statsclear will clear statistics for all and everything unless options are given (for instance a particular slot)

slotstatsclear will most likely do the same as a statsclear.-slot {#}.

Re: What's different about statsclear and slotstatsclear command

Also,from FOS command reference Manual.

statsClear

Clears port and diagnostic statistics.

SYNOPSIS statsclear

DESCRIPTION Use this command to clear the port and diagnostics statistics for the specified list of blade or user ports.

You can issue this command on the FR4-18i blade in a Brocade chassis; however, the command is not

supported by the Brocade platform and does not affect any other feature operations. This availability is

offered to maintain consistency across a mixed-blade environment.

What means "the command is not supported by Brocade platform"??

I input statsclear command in DCX,it should be work.

That it (the statsclear command) doesn't work on a FR4-18i blade.

In general (as in not specific to Brocade FOS), basically if two commands do the same thing (if supplied with the right parameters), they are redundant.

In that case you can omit one or the other in your procedure.

To make sure it works in your environment, you could always test this.

The worst that can happen is getting weird numbers/graphs.

Then at least you know in your environment you need both commands.
