What does the values of er_pcs_blk in portstatsshowXX represents??

Hi,

What does the values of er_pcs_blk in portstatsshowXX represents?? Why does it increment?? When was this concept introduced?

How to mitigate such issues??

For Ref:

er_enc_out 0 Encoding error outside of frames
er_bad_os 0 Invalid ordered set
er_pcs_blk 1208 PCS block errors<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<
er_rx_c3_timeout 0 Class 3 receive frames discarded due to timeout

Thanks in advance.

Hi Jeet,

if you look in the FOS Command Reference Guide you will find:

er_pcs_blk
The number of Physical Coding Sublayer (PCS) block errors. This counter records
encoding violations on 10 Gbps or 16 Gbps ports. This is applicable only on
platforms that support 10 Gbps or 16 Gbps ports.

This was introduced with Condor3 ASIC, the GEN5 Platforms.

Perform portstatsclear and look again. If the counter is counting up again then you have probably a problem with the line.
