Trunk, add two brocade 300 switches

Hi All,

I am a Newbie to brocade "SAN". I have a quick question regards to adding "interconnecting two brocade300 switches". I need to know

1. Do i need license?

2. What type of configuration is needed for this?

3. Do i need a special fiber port

4. Can i do the same with any other SAN PRODUCT?

Thanks,

/Ikram

Re: Trunk, add two brocade 300 switches

1- Yes you need the Fabric License

2-What do you mean with this question?

3-No unless you need to span more than, say, 300 meters.

4-Yes any other SAN product from the same vendor/brand or if its mentioned in a support matrix.

This should be enough, if not the port will segment and gives a reason as to why is segments.

F ports are for initiators and targets.

ISL's uses E ports. If your port configurations is the default one, an port will automaticlly become an E port if its an ISL.

Support matrices are found in the download section.
