Switches Firmware Upgrades

Hi team,

Im going to make same firmware upgrades, the machine, codes and jumps are:

Switches      Codes Source                                  Codes Target               Jumps

  200E                 5.3.0         IBM SAN16B-2           Max v6.2.2f         5.3.0> 6.0.0a -> 6.1.0a -> 6.2.2f

  200E                 5.3.0         IBM SAN16B-2           Max v6.2.2f         5.3.0> 6.0.0a -> 6.1.0a -> 6.2.2f

  4020                 5.3.1         4020                            Max v6.2.2f         5.3.1> 6.0.0a -> 6.1.0a -> 6.2.2f

  4020                 6.1.1d       4020                            Max v6.2.2f         6.1.1d -> 6.2.2f

  4020                 5.3.1         4020                            Max v6.2.2f         5.3.1> 6.0.0a -> 6.1.0a -> 6.2.2f

  4020                 5.3.1         4020                            Max v6.2.2f         5.3.1> 6.0.0a -> 6.1.0a -> 6.2.2f

I have configured my DCFM Enterprise with all codes and I see this information in DCFM and in WebTools:

DCFM.

DCFM_Firm.PNG

You can see the type support are 34 (200e) and 37 (4020).

WEBTOOLS:

WebTools_200E.PNG

   webtools say type 34.0  (not 34 how dcfm say)

WebTools_4020.PNG

   webtools say type 37.1 (not 37 how dcfm say)

Is normal this little difference????,    why??

I dont want surprises in my upgrades......

Thanks.

Dany.

Re: Switches Firmware Upgrades

The number after the dot is just the hardware revision. For example if there was a re-design of the board or a new manufacturing process... Usually it has no meaning for the user.

Re: Switches Firmware Upgrades

Hi Sebastian, morning.

I have tried to find some version with 37.1 but i dont find it.

I supousse that a version with support to switch type 37 (dcfm) is valid for switch type 37.1(webtools).

what do you think ?

Re: Switches Firmware Upgrades

Hi,

Yes, type 37 and 37.1 are the same.

Take a look at that talks about switch types and models and I found it very useful.
