SAN Health 4 Report

Hello,

I run the report through SAN Health 4, and read..

"SFP Capable Of-100,200,400_MB/s and PortSpeed 4 Gbps

what it means, I can go up to 200MB/s ? Instead with PortSpeed 8Gbps i have 400MB/s

Thanks

@NexusXp

100,200,400 = 4G SFP

200,400,800 = 8G SFP+

from command line, "sfpshow" command can you check the type of SFP is inserted in the port in question.

Re: SAN Health 4 Report

Hi Antonio,

I definitely SFP, I do not understand when the sect connection connector 100, 200 or 400 MB / s as I can control.
I have a SAN with SSD in RAID 5 5 connected to FC and does not exceed 200MB / s write or read. Host has to 8GB HBAs, and FC SAN 8GB 4GB (AN)
Should go to at least 340MB / s do not understand

Tanks very much

Re: SAN Health 4 Report

@NexusXp

you have 4Gb SFP and not 8GB SFP+,

for this reason the switch port work at max. 4GB, independent from HBA or Storage port Speed.

Re: SAN Health 4 Report

Hi,

my question is, possible that the port on switch is limited to 200MB/s ? when port use 100 o 200 MB/s ?

why i have 1 san Dell with 5 SSD in Raid 5, max speed on the volume is 210 MB/s

Thanks

Re: SAN Health 4 Report

Hello Nexus,

Could you try logging into the switch from command line with username admin and post output from this command:

switchshow

That might help us determine the issue.

Regards,

Denise
