Ping test failed on GE ports of 7800

Hi All

 

I face a failed ping test in our FCIP switch of the same fabric. There are two switches in this fabric, each with two GE ports currently configured. ge0 and ge1 with VE port 16 and 17 used for tunnelling.

 

Though both the ge ports are online on source and destination , the VE port are not come online more than 2 or 3seconds.

 

Ping test for ge0 and ge1 fails with

ge0:output

Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 1, Loss = 3 (75 percent loss)
        Min  RTT = 6ms, Max RTT = 6ms Average = 6ms

ge1: output

Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 1, Loss = 3 (75 percent loss)
        Min  RTT = 6ms, Max RTT = 6ms Average = 6ms

 

Both Switch Details: 7800 with  FOS v7.2.1a.

 

kindly help me fix this, thanks in advance.

Hi,

 

can you provide the configuration of your GE0 and GE1 interface on both ends, including gateway specification.

It is looking like you not able have IP connectivity between these two 7800s or incorrectly configured IP.

since you are gertting 25% (1 out of 4) ping answered, there is some connectivity. What does the traceroute show for you? And do you have firewalls in between the 7840?
