Any advise about this issue?

Great thanks

Re: PORT-1003 Faulty

PORT-1003

Indicates that the specified port is now disabled because the link on this port had multiple failures
that exceeded an internally set threshold on the port. This problem is typically related to hardware.
Recommended Action
Check and replace (if necessary) the hardware attached to both ends of the specified port number,
including:

• the media (SFPs)
• the cable (fiber optic or copper ISL)
• the attached devices

When finished checking the hardware, perform the portEnable command to re-enable the port.

Re: PORT-1003 Faulty

Hi

I would be surprise that you could have these amounts of ports failure. Usually these amount of errors occurred when there are maintenance on the switch and device connected on. Here what I would if this behaviour occured in my environment.

1. Run the following command "switchstatusshow" you should see the marginal port

2. Clear all the stats on the switch "clearstats"

3. Run "porterrshow and verify if any encoding, link, lost of signal occurred. Run the command several times. If you see some errors increment then you will need to identify the problem (cable cleaning or failure, bad sfp, hba initiator) if not everything is ok.

4. re-run "switchstatusshow" and no marginal port state should be reported

5. FYI a marginal port or switch does not mean that they are in failure mode.

6. Last if everything is ok, I would configure the SwitchPolicy (switchstatuspolicyshow). This policy is configurable. See the admin or cmd reference guide for how to, here a output of mine. Please do not use this configuration it depend on the switch type.

The current overall switch status policy parameters
                               Down    Marginal
---------------------------------------------------------------------
      PowerSupplies    0           0
       Temperatures    2          1
                   Fans    2           1
                 WWN    1           0
                     CP    1           0
                 Blade    1           0
          CoreBlade    1           0
                 Flash    1           0
     MarginalPorts   32          16
       FaultyPorts     4           2
       MissingSFPs     0           0

Let me know if this info help
