License

If I have two unlicensed switches can they join a fabric?  What does a license get you?

Re: License

That would depend on what license you refer to.

There're a number of licenses that range from;

-being able to join a fabric

-enabling additional port

-extending the fabric across the 10KM boundary

-enable advanced monitoring

-etc.

can you post a licenseshow for those unlicensed switches pls?

Re: License

Thanks for the quick reply.

They aren't powered up yet.  I asked where the licenses were and all I was told is, "there aren't any."

So I'm wondering if I will be able to have them join a fabric (see other post you've been helping me with.)

Re: License

If there are no licenses supplied one must assume that they are base switches, with the minimum of ports enabled.

Depending on the vendor you get either an email with e link to generate a license or physical document in the box.

Just to be save.power those new switches up and try to get a licenseshow.
