have you enabled both ports and verified you do not have light on light connected to each other?

have you verified if there is light on the cable? use your phonecam if you dont want to look into the laser

otherwise follow standard troubleshooting rules

connection?

driver loaded?

light on light maybe?

defective kabel

defective sfp, or even missing sfp

or the port is just turned off

and sometimes it is nice to get more info

just a no light on both ends is a bit not enought to work with.

whats the portshow out put for the port you trying to connect your device too?

what enclosure do you use?

and many more things

hi simit,

there's small confuse from your  post.

1) Brocade 300 is a 24 "external" ports switch not embedded

2) you want to connect it via port 7 to the hba on blade enclosure

if am right then..what I see , you have some blade chassis in which you have some host with fc mezzani card and you would like to connect it to the Brocade 300

am almost sure that in that chassis you have blade fc switch , that blade switch (for example Brocade M6505) has 16 internal ports to connect to mezzani cards in hosts and 8 external ports(0,17>23)

then all you need is configure blade fc switch and patch it to the Brocade 300
