How to upgrade to 6.3.x for 4100 if at 5.2.0a

Hello,

What are the steps to upgrade the Brocade 4100 from 5.2 to 6.3.2b?  Do you have to stair-step it like 5.2.1, then to 5.2.2, then to 5.2.3 or can you go 5.2 to the next main version like 6.0, then 6.3.2b???

How long does it take to complete an FOS upgrade per step?

Hi cgrecia

You'll need to upgrade to at least 5.3 before you can upgrade to 6.0  all the upgrades from 6 onwards are single upgrades , you can't miss versions.

In regards to timing I would try and do the upgrades during low i/o perhaps on a weekend , afer your backups have completed. normally can take 25min to half an hour per switch.

Good thing is it's non-distruptive so you applications/services won't be affected.

Good luck

David
