How to remove Switch from fabric

Hi,

I have 4 switches in a fabric, i want to remove a switch from fabric.

What are the pre-requisites for doing same.,

What are the steps to follow...

steps need to verify

1. remove eport connetivity. (ISL)

2. remove the alias and zoned for removed switch.

Kindly need your suggestions

If the switch is not longer used and all connectivity are disconnected , then you need just to disconnect the Switch - ISL from other Switches in the Fabric..

the second option you get a risk to remove the entire config in the fabric.

-->>2. remove the alias and zoned for removed switch.

But if i remove switch directly, then is there any impact on my current config in fabric. ?

do i need to disable the switch before removing ?

I've removed/dismiss in the past lot of switch from productive fabric, without any impact.

as mentioned, if the switch you want to remove is not longer productive and not set as principal switch, you can safely remove from the fabric.

no.

But if you want to make sure the fabric is continued to work, can do follow:

Disable "portcfgpersistentdisable" the Port is ISL's to other switch in the Fabric, and check if all is work.
