Re: How to find slow device

Hi,

I want say : Slow drain device !

And yes the firmware is supported and validated (between the storage and the backbone)

I will explain a bit more tomorrow because I should see better

In fact, we see a problem with our 48-port blades....

See you later ...

Re: How to find slow device

What problem do you see due to the slow drain device?? I'm trying to figure out how one could find a slow drain device in 6.2.. Brocade had helped us find this from multiple supportsaves collected over time.

In 6.3 there are new features to turn on bottleneck detection. This is specifically targetted at this task.

Slow drain devices are usually - storage ports with high fan out ratio. For example we had a storage port with 50 hosts on it, sounds crazy but blame our predecessors.

Slow drain devices can also be ISL's with depleted buffers.

So check for a large depletion of BB credits on any suspected ports and do this over a period of time.

I will inform u if I find a specific procedure with commands.
