Re: How to find port in McData SAN event log

This event (084) is classified as INFORMATIONAL and is decoded as follows:

Explanation: CIDR threshold value exceeded for one of the following incidents
= Unroutable Frames Incident - Port has received unroutable frames
= Routable Good Frames Incident - Port has received frames with embedded port as destination
= Invalid Transmission words Incident - Port has received invalid transmission words

Action: Helps in identifying the misbehaving device, so that it could be corrected/fixed.

The CIDR reason code is indicated in the event data.

0 . 00 00 00 1F . 00 00 FF 02 . 00 00 00 02

Word 0 = Port # (00 00 00 1F)

Word 1 = CIDR Reason Code (00 00 FF 02)

Word 2 = CIDR Event Type (00 00 00 02)

Reason Codes:

00 00 FF 01 = Unroutable Frames Incident

00 00 FF 02 = Good Frames Incident (received frames with embedded port as destination)

00 00 FF 03 = Invalid Transmission Words Incident

Event Type:

00 00 00 01 = Short Event (Incident was repeated several times in the past 5 minutes)

00 00 00 02 = Medium Event (Incident was repeated several times in the past hour)

00 00 00 03 = Long Event (Incident was repeated several times in the past 24 hours)

Hope this helps,
