Re: Firware update failed

It seems your CF card is full (no space left on device).

Possibly because of an failed update.

You can enter Single User mode (hosto is described in the password recovery document found on this site)

and try cleaning things up.

I'm sorry, but i don't know where you should begin to look for things to clean up.

Perhaps someone else can help you with that.

If you're not convinced about your ability to correct the problem, contact your vendor.

Re: Firware update failed

Yes my DS200E failed after a firware update failed. I don't find the password recovery procedure (only a break link), so I don't know how to enter into single user mode ?

Thanks

Re: Firware update failed

password recovery

http://community.brocade.com/docs/DOC-1644

The formatting is gone and it looks like output/examples are a bit misplaced but I've used it once and it works.

Just read carefully.

You can start with "Password recovery using boot prom" and obviously skip all commands with regards to passwords.

Do you have an suppottcontract with your vendor?

Re: Firware update failed

When the switch rebooting and I press escape but I don't access to the maintenance menu, I think it is dead !

We have no support because it' a mockup environement for test only.

Re: Firware update failed

If you tried using a serial console cable and had no succes, you better call your vendor (IBM I guess) and ask them if they can fix it for you.

It 'll probably going to cost you some money.

Alternatives besides calling your vendor:

1>buy a new switch

2>If CF card is replacable, buy or use an larger CF card, clone the original to the new one, insert new CF card and try again.
