Firmware 5.2.0a

Hi Guys,

My Brocade 200E is currently having a Firmware version 5.0.1a. I wish to obtain the later version which is v5.2.0a, can anyone tell me where can I obtain it?

Does is make any sense if I will upgrade my firmware from v5.0.1a to v5.2.0a, the benefits and the like?

Thanks a lot!

Re: Firmware 5.2.0a

Hi,

here can you download the FOS 5.x

before begin the Upgrade, read the Release Notes, and follw exact the procedure by Intermediate Release, from 5.0 -> 5.1 -> 5.2

Re: Firmware 5.2.0a

Hey, thanks for the information. I have noticed that from the URL you gave me I can only see v5.2.0b and there is no v5.2.0a as I have mentioned.

My Brocade 200E in production has v5.2.0a that's why I want to upgrade my trial site having the production as the base line.

Is there any difference between v5.2.0a and v.5.2.0b?

Thanks again!

Re: Firmware 5.2.0a

hi,

the difference between the both letter "a" and "b" are the defect closed in this Release, for details see in the Release Notes under "Defect Closed"

v5.2.0a is not longer available for download.

both FOS are the same.

the next are 5.2.1b; 5.2.2a; 5.2.3; 5.3.0d; 5.3.1a, 6.0.1a and 6.1.0b

all 5.x are overseded with 5.3.1

Re: Firmware 5.2.0a

Hi,

I downloaded v5.2.0b firmware from the site you have provided. Thanks a lot. By the way, 5.2.0b Release Notes v1.0 states that "Upgrading from Fabric OS v5.0.x to v5.2.x is supported" which statisfies my current scenario.

Thanks for the great help!

Hi Cris,

--->>> By the way, 5.2.0b Release Notes v1.0 states that "Upgrading from Fabric OS v5.0.x to v5.2.x is supported"....

....is correct, but i prefered by Upgrade to use the procedure not higher than one Release, Ex. from 5.0 to 5.1; from 5.1 to 5.2 and so on.

Re: Firmware 5.2.0a

Hello,

I just follow this thread to make another inquiry as of this moment I haven't done the Firmware upgrade yet. I'm sitll trying to justify whether to push trough the activity or have it set aside from the time being as this activity requires donwtime of the switch since it requires a reboot if I'm not mistaken..

What could be the benefit of having my existing v5.0.1a and be upgraded to a higher firmware version?

Thanks.

Re: Firmware 5.2.0a

Cris,

since 5.0.1a and 5.2.0a are exact 25 New Release available.

--->>> What could be the benefit of having my existing v5.0.1a....

The benefits are all the diverse closed defect, and same New features, for details about the New Features see the Begin Release Notes 5.1.0 and 5.2.0

Hi,

From that perspective, is it practical and would you recommend to upgrade the firmware?

Many thanks!
