Fibre connection

We have a tape fabric, like the picture show below.  One director (48K) in the middle, fans out into edge switches (3900), each switch is attched to some tape drives for backups.

One host has two fibre runs, one run goes to an edge switch and one run goes to the director.

Now the question, does the traffic know to pick its path when backing up to different tape drives?

Re: Fibre connection

if the host see's the drives, i cant think of any reason why it wouldnt write to the tape drives correctly.

Re: Fibre connection

Yea, they are zoned by wwn. Both path see the drives.

I was thinking that by FSPF, the host should know to pick the correct target to back up to by the shortest distance available. Just want to confirm.
