Errors seen on blades connected to SAN

Hi,

We're using Brocade SAN switch in blade-server chassis to connect multiple server blades to disk array (server blades connecting to the SAN using dm-multipath).  We're seeing the following errors occasionally in the server blade logs which appear related to the SAN connectivity, but do not appear to be experiencing any actual connectivity issues over the SAN (i.e., no known interruptions to disk array access).

Do the following errors indicate actual issues on the SAN?  The switch logs look clean, but many of the blades show similar errors at same timestamp.

kernel: rport-1:0-302: blocked FC remote port time out: removing rport

kernel: rport-1:0-302: blocked FC remote port time out: removing rport
kernel: rport-2:0-302: blocked FC remote port time out: removing rport

kernel: rport-2:0-302: blocked FC remote port time out: removing rport

Thanks.

Re: Errors seen on blades connected to SAN

Hi, this is just speculation - perhaps these are seen because the SAN array only presents the LUN via one controller?

Re: Errors seen on blades connected to SAN

Kris,

Kernel error, stay indicate in most case High and /or Critical problem.

To be honest I've never see any such error in the past, however from my point of view you shold Open a Call by you Vendor/OEM to investigate the issue.

Is my opinion.
