Mohamed,

what does this error mean ?

the answer is follow:

1) Ex_Ports are activated on a per port basis with the optional IR = Integrated Routing license.

to verify if a IR License is installed, execute the command "licenseshow"

2) If they insist to connect the 1620 to 5100...., again this is not longer supported.

E/OSi is since FOS 6.0.0 not longer supported !!!!

In such case not change anything if a IR License is installed or not.

Finally, and sorry to say, at this point to avoid Confusion not make sense to Open several Threads for the same question.

THANKS

Antonio

Re: Error: EX-Port related operations are allowed on base switch only

If you have VF enabled (which is enable as default) you have to configure first a base switch. Then you have to move the port to the base switch and then is can be confiured as an EX port.

Another option is to disable VF first. Use the command "fosconfig  --disable vf". Then you can configure every port as EX Port if IR license is installed.

I hope this helps. If you need further help please let me know.

Best regards,

Andreas
