Dell PowerConnect M8428-K ISL with Brocade Switches?

Hi all

I got 2 Fabrics with 2 switches each Brocade 5000 and 4100 that connect to each via ISL. We recently bought Dell Blade Chassie with Dell PowerConnect M8428-K (Brocade OEM) swithc in it. I need to connect this now via ISL and to my current frabics. Current switches is on FOS 6.2.2 and new switch is no FOS 6.3.1_del. I assume I need to update my current switches 1st to 6.3.1. ? Any other gothca I have to look out for?

In general best practice is to have the same FW lvl in your fabric when possible.

If your current switches are able to run the same lvl as your new switches, you can upgrade the current ones to that lvl.

Look at compatibility matrices to find your match.

You should get the doc from the Dell website with regards to your chassis.

Brocade docs  can be found on this website

under >> documentation

Scroll down to "Technical Documentation"

Expand " Matrices"

And then I actually don't know as i don't have any support plans with Brocade
