DS5000B switch ports going offline/online

Hi ,

I have two DS5000B switches just introduced in to the network and upgrade it to 6.2.2b ,then put them under observation for 24hrs where port#11,17 are keep going offline and online with a count of nearly 1500 times and the count is keep going on and port#9 on other switch. ..cleared the port stats and checking the interrupts and loss_of signal number keep growing, At this point nothing connected to the switch.what could be the issue ? any other diags the I can run to find why the ports are keep going on and off ? appreciate your valuable feedback on this...Thanks

Re: DS5000B switch ports going offline/online

Port 11 has no module installed or the SFP is not correctly inserted.

See you output: portPhys:  2    No_Module

On port 11 i assume that the cable is not correctly inserted. The switch is not receiving any light from the other side of the link.

Are you using the correct cable types?

I hope this helps,

Andreas

Hi Andres,

Yes , it did resolved after replacing the SFP's. They were having bad optics.

Thanks
