DCX Time slipping

I have two DCX'x (IBM2499's) that are nearing 10 years old, running v7.4.1.  Once every 1 -3 minutes, I get a TS-1010 event where the Director is adjusting the time by 10 seconds or so.  Do I have a battery wearing out?  Why can't the clock keep up?  I am using two NTP servers set with the TSCLOCKSERVER command.

EX:  NTP Server Time Update from 2017/12/28-13:04:54.051765 to 2017/12/28-13:05:08.362037
