Consoling into a 3800 Switch

I can't telnet into the switch and I can't reboot. I want to console in but I noticed in the hardware guide it doesn't recommend consoling in with the switch up & running only during setup. What problems will this cause?

No real problem other than I can't telnet into the switch without rebooting which is not an option. I just want to know if there are any problems with consoling in since the hardware guide doesn't recommend it.

Re: Consoling into a 3800 Switch

Attaching to the switch via a console connection will not cause any issues (even after it is placed in production). As far as I know it just isnt a recommended method because you physically have to be by the switch to attach.Hope this helps and good luck
