Connection between GigE ports in Brocade 7500E

Hi,

Currently I'm using a Brocade 7500E with two GigE ports.

I have a tunnel using FCIP in the first one (ge0). The tunnel is running fine.

I have connected a Cisco Ethernet Switch to the second one (ge1) and I want to route all ethernet traffic from the Cisco Switch to the FCIP tunnel.

Is it possible ?

Thanks.

Jose.

These GbE ports are for creating FCIP tunnel and should be configured as VE /VEX ports. How can you connect CISCO SW for ethernet traffic?

Re: Connection between GigE ports in Brocade 7500E

I have a Gigabit-Ethernet GBIC in the ge1 interface.

I'm using a crossover cable to connect this interface with the Cisco Switch.

Is it possible to route traffic between the two GigE ports ?

Thanks for the answers.

Jose.

No way, the technology does not allow. As I have mentioned these are for creationg FCIP Tunnel or FCR configuration.

Re: Connection between GigE ports in Brocade 7500E

Are you asking can you connect a copper SFP to the Cisco Ethernet switch?

If you are, then yes.  I'm doing it right now.

I am using a 7500 with the copper GBIC adapter to a Cisco ethernet switch.

There are no problems with this setup.

If you are trying to somehow route traffic from ge0 and push it to ge1 prior to leaving the switch, then no, that isn't possible.

Let me know if I have misunderstood your questions...
