Connecting 3 Brocades

I have a bit of an issue- our purchasing people bought equipment but not the correct licensing. I now have a 5140 and a few 8/24cs in blade chassis that I need to hook up together but no ISL licensing yet. It is possible to hook up the 8/24c switches to the 5140 through a single connection each and make a fabric on the cheap until my licenses arrive?

Re: Connecting 3 Brocades

Ian,

the Switches have all necessary License what you need to work.

The only thing what i see here is, in the 8/24c i don't see any Port License.

I am not sure if this Blade Switch have all or a part of number of Port Native Activated, because no License is show here.

I have never work whit this HP blade switch, ask by HP or you reseller.

However, all Brocade switches whit Port on Demand, have a minimum of Port Active.

Re: Connecting 3 Brocades

Ian,

i follow this Info. This switch is available as:

8/12c = 12 Port

8/24c = 16 Port

8/24c + Power Pack = Full Licensed.

Your both blade also, have a Min. License of 16 Port.
