Can't connect to Brocade 8G switch in BladeCenter

I see switch in AMM. Can change IP adress from AMM, but cannot connect to switch later to configure.

I did connect to the switch my tape library, and AIX host on blade server did see tape drives.

However I cannot enter to switch neither telnet, neither Web.

Did you have configured the FC module on the same subnet as the AMM is?

The old models had a need for this kind of setup. I am not sure if this is also required for the new models.

Did you have tried to login via SSH as well?

Yes, I did. Subnet is the same.

SSH and secure http didn't work too.

If I could access to serial console to see what happend, or what doing during starting switch.

Re: Can't connect to Brocade 8G switch in BladeCenter

if the blade modules have a serial connection try to get a login and use the user USERID with the correct password.

Run the ipaddrshow command to validate the IP.

You need following settings:

9600 bits

8 data bits

Parity none

1 Stop bit

Flow control none.

Please use only the original cables from IBM.

I have BladeCenter H 7989, and Blade Server JS43.

How to setup serial connection to blade module?

Do I use "IBM BladeCenter H Serial Port Breakout Cable", or I need to use SOL?
