Bumble bee icon on Fabric B of the M48000 in the zoning window.

We believe this all started after we replaced CP0 in our M48000 director.

The CP card was not at the same firmware level as CP1.  We were instructed to “down rev” the card to the same level as CP1, (CP1 v6.1.1d and the new CP card was at v6.2.0.e).

We followed the firmware procedures and according the CP cards all is well.

This is not the case with EFCM.  We now have two problems reported to EFCM, (V9.7.3).

Although CP shows the two cards are in sync and in HA, EFCM is reporting something else.

(This is from CP0)

admin> firmwareshow

Slot Name     Appl     Primary/Secondary Versions               Status

------------------------------------------------------------------------

  5  CP0      FOS   v6.1.1d                                  ACTIVE *

                                v6.1.1d

  6  CP1      FOS   v6.1.1d                                  STANDBY

                                v6.1.1d

hashow

Local CP (Slot 5, CP0): Active, Warm Recovered

Remote CP (Slot 6, CP1): Standby, Healthy

HA enabled, Heartbeat Up, HA State synchronized

1). In EFCM Element manager the HA tab shows “HA Status: Non-Redundant”

(No resolve has been found for this issue and is relatively minor)

2). In EFCM Zoning for Fabric B, (this was the fabric that we replaced the CP card in). It shows Fabric B with a bumble bee icon in the Active Zone set tab and nothing in the zone Library Tab.

(This is a more serious issue for us as we can’t complete any new zoning).

We tried re-booting the EFCM server, dropping and re-adding the B fabric in the configuration.

No change at all.

We do have an open case with Brocade and we have been working on this for several days.

I was just hoping for some feedback from others to see if anyone ran into this before.

Thank you

I Know this issue, by CP replacement, whitout executed the command "slotpoweroff" before remove the defective CP.

I would, if the new replaced CP is the current standby CP execute slotpoweroff and then slotpoweron.

Probable you must Re-Sync the both CP now, and the problem is solved.

I have done whit this procedure and work fine.

Thanks for the feedback

We just tried to execute slotpoweroff and it looks like that command is not recognized by th is ver of firmware we have, .  Message read “Not Supported on this FRU”, (v6.1.1d)

IceMan

what showing hashow command output ?

can you please post here ?

have you trying

1) hasyncstop

Disabling HA synchronization may cause failover to be disruptive.

2) hasyncstart

3) hafailover

what appeaned ?

Re: Bumble bee icon on Fabric B of the M48000 in the zoning window.

We had to do a hafailover before trying the slotpoweroff because CP0 was the active controller.
We failed over to CP1 and then tried to run slotpoweroff.
(CP0 was the card that was replaced as oer recomended by Brocade).

Here is the out from the hashow

Local CP (Slot 6, CP1): Active, Warm Recovered
Remote CP (Slot 5, CP0): Standby, Healthy
HA enabled, Heartbeat Up, HA State synchronized

We did try hasyncstop and hasyncstart.
The command did work but we were still unable to power off slot 5
