Brocade Connectrix DS_4900 SNMP traffic monitoring

Dear all,

We are running some Brocade 4900, I would like to monitor the traffic on some interfaces.

I loaded the appropriate MIB in order to do that.

Now I can see a huge lists of values available to watch.

I have some questions :

  • Should I use rx / txwords or rx / txframes ?

  • Rx is the received traffic which is In traffic right ?

  • The values that are coming from the OID above are in which values (bits, bytes) ?

  • In order to have a good representation of the total traffic should I use another OID also ? (rx/tx mcasts, rx enc in frs, rx crcs, rx truncs, rx too longs, rx bad eofs, rx enc out frs, c3discards, mcasts timed outs, lip ins / lip outs)

  • rxc2frames and rxc3frames and rxlcs are needed ?
