Brocade 7800 & IR License

Hello expert,

According to 6.4.0 administrator guide,

"The IR is required for FCR. The IR license is required to configure VEX_ports"

What if customer have SAN architecture like attach file.

Will IR license request to install on both-end of Brocade 7800 ?

As-Is at AP7500, if same architecture, it will require IR license for using FCIP with routing.

Just want to confirm again.

IR - AFAIK - Is only Supported on the SAN FC Port Side and not on the FCIP !

Not sure, but i think this is not supported.

Integrated Routing —

This license allows ports in a DCX, DCX-4S, 5300, 5100, VA-40FC (in switch mode), 7800 or Brocade Encryption Switch to be configured as EX_Ports or VEX_Ports supporting Fibre Channel Routing. This eliminates the need to add an FR4-18i blade or use the 7500 for FCR purposes, and also provides double the bandwidth for each FCR connection (when connected to another 8G-capable port).

to avoid some confusion, you wrote

Do you want to connect the both 7800 site via FCIP ? or why you mention here the 7500 and FCIP
