Brocade 300 - ISL - initital setup problem

I'm trying to connect two Brocade 300s, recently upgraded to Fabric OS:  v6.4.2a.

I installed 30km lw sfps in both switches, ports 9:

Vendor Name: BROCADE
Vendor PN:   57-1000020-01

And connected the ports.  Currently the switches are located in the same rack; I'm just trying to confirm they work and can be ISL'd.

switchshow shows:

9   9   020900   id    N4   In_Sync     FC

and

9   9   010900   id    N4   In_Sync     FC

I'm sure it's something simple.

Is there a minimum distance needed for the ISL long wave to be valid?

Do I need an extended fabric license to use these 30km sfps?  Even thought at the moment the distance is only a few feet?

What cable type should I use?  Multi vs. single mode?

Are you using single mode optical cables to connect both switches?

Do you have extended fabric license to support the 30 km distance?

Re: Brocade 300 - ISL - initital setup problem

I switched to SM (single mode) cables and the ISL is working ok.

Outstanding!
