I realize there are numerous discussions regarding this topic. However, many of the links to the utilities are no longer active. I have a Silkworm 2800 for which I have lost the admin and root passwords. Resetting the switch defaults does not restore these passwords. I do have a Silkwork 2400 for which I have admin access. Can someone please explain my options?
Is it possible to reset the 2800 if it participates in a fabric with the 2400?
Is it possible to get to the serial console to modify directly?
Where are the utilities for this and is the procedure documented?
Thank you in advance.

see this Threads
Attached find the PasswordReset tools to Reset the admin Password.
Both switch 2400 and 2800 must have the same ip range, as example
2400 = 192.168.0.10
2800 = 192.168.0.11
and both switch must have a ISL connection.
Note, if the root password work, default is "fibranne" you can log as root and reset all password whit the command "passwddefault" from a command line.

Thank You TechHelp24 ... I managed to get access to the switch using the password utility you provided. One more quick question.... Is there a command to modify all the passwords back to their default? I still do not have access to the user and/or root passwords. Thanks again.

I only have access to the admin account. The passwddefault commmand is not recognized as admin. Is there another way of reseting the root password using the admin account? I do not have access to that account on either switch. Thanks again.
