Best way (how to) check if a port is actively being used?

I just just started at a new company and we have quite a few switches that all of their ports are used up.  Whats the best way to see if a port is actively being used??  Tool or Command?  Any help would be appreciated!

If actively being used refers to being in use regardless of traffic , you can check with switchshow if the port is online.

Otherwise check with portstatsshow or portstats64show for traffic, perhaps use an portstatsclear to zero all counters

Checkout Brocade SANHealth tool. Discover your each fabric step by step.

Run a data collection and send the BSH file to Borcade.

You will receive back a nice topology view and an Excel document with the zoning information and the switche details all in one document.

Before you start check if the requirements are fulfilled.

SANHealth is collecting performance data too.
