DETAILED DESCRIPTION

This perl script can be used to (re)name switches ports.

To use it, you need to create a file / list in the following format :
switch_ip_address:slotSmiley TongueortSmiley Tongueort_name
And run 'cat | portname.pl'
This script creates a log, called (by default) output.log.

To use this script, you must change the following values :

  • password
  • prompt

You can not "invent" them, those must be the ones reflecting your existing configuration.

REQUIREMENTS

Operating System Any supporting Perl & Net::Telnet

Interface Perl 5.8

Fabric Operating System >4

Other None

NOTES (INCLUDING LIMITATIONS)

This script is provided as is, it means I do not endorse any responsibility for whatever can occur using it (your wife leaves you, your car is broken, you do not have coffee, no more coke available, switch burning, ...) :-)
